Treasured Vignettes
“And the witness is this, that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has the life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life.” 1 John 5:11, 12
Sometime ago, there was an ad on T.V. that showed a youngster enjoying life. The narrator was talking about health and the need for calcium for the ability to enjoy life. The commercial ended with the child’s smile, topped with a milky mustache, and the words, “Got milk?” It takes “getting” milk everyday to replace the lost or used up calcium, because its presence in the body is temporary.
Not so with eternal life! Once we have received Jesus Christ as our Savior and Lord, we have “it”—eternal life. If we haven’t received the Son of God, we don’t have “it,” period. There is a joy that fills the very depths of our being when we “get” eternal life. And so, with a smile, topped with love and joy, I ask, “Got Christ?” Selah.
