Sifted Like Wheat
Treasured Vignettes

“but I (the Lord Jesus) have prayed for you, that your faith may not fail; and you, when once you have turned again, strengthen your brothers.” Luke 22:32

There are times in every saint’s life when he/she may be “sifted like wheat.” When it happens, we may find ourselves turning away from God (or at least not making Him the first one we turn to), our confidence is scattered and our hope flies away before the wind of adversity. BUT, GOD has kept “that which we have entrusted to Him;” and, the Lord Jesus is “continually making intercession for us” that our “faith will not fail.” Therefore, when we have “turned again” and the winnowing fork is at last laid to rest, we will find remaining the kernel of our faith in which abides eternal life and sustenance to feed others. Selah.
