Have you ever known someone who is great at giving his/her advice about disciplining children, but neglects to follow it? Our Heavenly Father is not like that! Because He desires each of His children to have life, eternally and abundantly, He does discipline us. “God deals with you as sons; for what son is there whom his father does not discipline? He disciplines us for our good, that we may share His holiness.”(See Hebrews 12:1-11). If the Lord disciplines us, we know we are His children and are deeply loved. “For whom the Lord loves He reproves, even as a father, the son in whom he delights.” (Proverbs 3:12) Our Heavenly Father, the God of all hope, hopes the best for us, and so, He does not neglect any aspect of His care of us, and that includes our discipline.
