“Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you entirely; and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved complete, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.” 1 Thessalonians 5:23
Life in the Spirit is the Christian’s school and a disciple is a learner. One of the basic facts we Christians must grasp is that “we are and we are becoming.” We are saved but we must “work out our salvation with fear and trembling.” We are children of God but we are being “conformed to the image of his Son.” We have become “new creatures” but we must learn to “walk in newness of life.” We are sanctified but we are also being sanctified. We have peace with God and we are learning how to be at peace with all men. There is a popular saying nowadays, “God loves you the way you are and He loves you too much to leave you that way.” God Himself is busy causing us “to increase and abound in love for one another, and for all men.” He is at work in us to bring us to maturity (completeness, wholeness) so that we are blameless, unashamed and “lacking nothing” at Jesus’ return. How are you doing in school? Selah.
