Righteousness starts with trusting God, for it is God who exalts and God who debases. Historically, those God-fearing people who have led this nation, contributed to her greatness and good reputation throughout the world. Those in authority, who have done evil in God’s sight, have sullied our reputation and made our nation vulnerable to contempt, attack and destruction. Therefore, it is imperative that the Christians, in this nation, “respect what is right in the sight of all men,” and, make “entreaties {and} prayers, petitions {and} thanksgivings . . . on behalf of all men, for kings and all who are in authority, in order that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. This is good and acceptable in the sight of God, our Savior.” Selah.
