“Woe to him who builds his house without righteousness and his upper rooms without justice, who uses his neighbor’s services without pay and does not give him his wages.” Jeremiah 22:13
The Lord Himself declares that the person of authority and wealth who chooses to plead “the cause of the afflicted and needy,” to do justice and righteousness, not only “knows the Lord,” but, it will be “well with him {her}.” On the other hand, the people who look for and intend to do “anything it takes” for his/her own gain, including dishonest and destructive acts, as well as, “practicing oppression and extortion,” will die alone. This is an extreme example, but a solemn warning to us, Christians, also. We need to consider our intentions and the thoughts we harbor in our hearts and minds, letting the Living Word of the Lord be the mirror into which we keenly look. And, let us attend to our ways in righteousness for the Lord’s name sake, and, so it will be well with us. Selah.
