Treasured Vignettes
“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you tithe mint and dill and cumin, and have neglected the weightier provisions of the law; justice and mercy and faithfulness; but these are the things you should have done without neglecting the others.” Matthew 23:23
How easy to give out of our substance compared to tithing good character. We often put more store in the pride over the labor of our hands than in the humility it takes to transform our hearts. God prefers compassion over sacrifice; justice over attainment; and, faithfulness over religious traditions. Think about it.
