Treasured Vignettes
“All discipline for the moment seems not to be joyful, but sorrowful; yet to those who have been trained by it, afterwards it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness.” Hebrews 12:11
When pride and selfishness are condoned, agitation and fear sound a discordant CLANG that sets our hearts on edge and stirs resentment towards, and detachment from, God and others. This is a dangerous and destructive attitude. So, our heavenly Father, in His love and mercy, disciplines us that we may know what brings life and well-being and what does not.
When we do what is “right,” our whole being (body, mind and spirit) come into harmony and peace settles in. Our relationships move toward healthier commitment and intimacy. Quietness and confidence return and we feel more secure through having pleased God. Think about it.
