"But as for you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, {too} little to be among the clans of Judah, from you One will go forth for me to be ruler in Israel. His goings forth are from long ago, from the days of eternity." Micah 5:2
“but God has chosen the foolish things of the world to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to shame the things which are strong, and the base things of the world and the despised, God has chosen, the things that are not, that He might nullify the things that are, that no man should boast before God.”
1 Cor 1:27-29
“but God has chosen the foolish things of the world to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to shame the things which are strong, and the base things of the world and the despised, God has chosen, the things that are not, that He might nullify the things that are, that no man should boast before God.”
1 Cor 1:27-29
God did not choose a people for Himself out of a great worldly empire. He chose a small group of nomads, the family Israel, to be His witnesses to the world. It was not a queen He chose to bear His Son, He chose a young hebrew virgin named Mary to bring forth His Annointed One. He chose the smallest, most insignificant, time, place and people to reveal His magnificant plan for the salvation of mankind. In this, He has confounded the worldly wise, the strong and the noble with His Way of reconciliation and salvation. His plan seems foolish to those who are perishing, but to us who are called (and chosen)it is the "the power of God and the wisdom of God" and we rejoice and are grateful. Think about it.
