Do you know what it means to "hear," really hear? It means, not only to pay attention to but, to be willing to act upon what was told to you, making the decision to act upon it. Jesus spoke to those "who hear." These were those whose faith drew their minds and hearts to pay attention to what Jesus said. He set an example they were to follow. These standards, or commands, were given to provoke the religiously proud to humility and every person to the realization that, without a Savior, they would perish in their inability to keep God's standards. God's people have standards, their Father's standards, that's what makes us uniquely His. What we often forget is that He is Provider of all we need to meet those standards. If we have put our faith in Jesus Christ as Savior, He has deposited His Spirit in our hearts and bodies so that we can "follow." Think about it.
