“And now, Lord, for what do I wait? My hope is in Thee.”
Psalm 39:7
Psalm 39:7
Hope is the waiting room of heaven. In this life on earth the saint of God finds he/she has ample opportunity to “wait upon the Lord.” In Psalm 39, David, the psalmist, is in a trial and it seems to be a lengthy one. He expresses his understanding that nothing comes into his life that does not first get okayed by God. But, he is despairing and, in despairing, finds himself blaming God. Yet, in his despair and suffering, he still clings to, and appeals to, God, waiting for God’s response. Have you ever been in a situation like that? Our hope must be in the Lord alone, for He is the only One Who, someday, will turn our faith to sight. (You might also read 2 Corinthians 5:1-9) Think about it.
