“Love . . .does not act unbecomingly . . .” 1 Corinthians 13:5
“Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep.” (Romans 12:15, NASV) No matter the situation or event, the arrogant will always think that it’s all about him. No consideration is given to the others who have gathered around him. Arrogance is as likely to tell an off-color joke at a funeral as to dampen a celebration with his foul mood. Love, on the other hand, has great discernment and compassion. Love respects “what is right in the sight of all men” (Romans 12:17). Love anticipates what is necessary and appropriate, comforting the mourning and augmenting the rejoicing. Think about it.
