Treasured Vignettes
“And He (Jesus) said to the woman, ‘Your faith has saved you; go in peace.’” Luke 7:50, parenthesis mine.
Faith is not just belief; it is belief and honor of God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. The “worst” sinner, who turns, believes and honors Christ, from the heart, will be saved. The most religious personage, who harbors in his heart, doubt and refuses to accept Jesus Christ for Who He is, will be condemned. God does not go by what man says about man, he looks upon the hidden recesses of the heart, where thoughts and intentions are conceived and treasured.
I have seen an advertisement that shows a person under attack by ferocious invaders. At the end of the commercial, one of the assailants gruffly inquires, “what is in your wallet,” intimating that, if you have a certain kind of credit card, you’re safe. (We know that is not necessarily so). But, it can be an illustration with spiritual implications. What is in your heart? If faith in the Lord Jesus Christ is there, you shall be saved. Think about it.
