Sin begins in the heart (the inner man) not the belly. It is the intentions and attitudes we hold in our minds and hearts that color our beliefs and violate our innocence. Be wise about life but be innocent in how you think about it and how you live it (Matthew 10:16, paraphrased). We must know how things work on earth but be innocent of wrongdoing in that knowledge. We must be careful, circumspect, prayerful and obedient to God, keeping a clear conscience, uncluttered from sin, unbelief and worldly doctrines. It is, today, like no other day, a time to seek God in His Word and His Spirit; to be doers of the Word, not just hearers; to be the children of God, the Body of Christ. Think about it.
