And this is what we, Christians, must carry into this new year, even our faith. This is the only thing that will not perish under any circumstance. We must cultivate it, feed it, grow it, test it, use it. If our Bibles be taken away, do we know the Word of God personally enough to keep our faith? If all fellowship with other believers is banned, will we cherish our personal fellowship with God anyway? If we are persecuted, tortured, put to death, will our faith keep us prayerful, forgiving and loving even of those who mean us harm? With the increase of evil and darkness in this present world, will our faith, hope and love burn even brighter? These are the questions of the new year for each Christian to answer, to use to activate any reform, resolve or practice. For the answers, resolutions and practices that result mean life eternal or judgment and the wrath of God. Think about it.
