Oftentimes, we become focused on "proving our point" even if it is erroneous. We can speak with passionate conviction on a belief that is not based on truth. The Sadducees did not believe in the resurrection but they did not know the truth. The Pharisees did believe in the resurrection but could not correct the Sadducees because they did not believe the truth about what God could do. Jesus corrected them both, "Your trouble is that you don't know the Scriptures, and don't know the power of God." Error is inevitable when we don't know the revealed and written word of God. But, error also comes when we do not believe the truth about who God is and what He is capable of doing. Think about it.
