"You follow Me!" John 21:22 AMP
So many devoted Christians suffer and labor under self-condemnation because they can't be like Jesus. But Jesus did not say, "You must be Me!" Jesus said, "Take My yoke upon you, and learn from Me" (Matthew 11:29-30).
Dear friend, the more I study the words of Our Savior, Jesus Christ, the more I realize my discrepancies in being "like Him." What freedom is ours when we understand that, when Jesus went to be with our heavenly Father, He didn't leave us orphans to figure out for ourselves the way to live as Christ followers. He sent His Spirit to "bring to remembrance all He said;" to "teach us all things;" "witness" to us of Christ; "convict" us of the right way; "guide us into all the truth;" and, "disclose" the things of Christ to us (John 14:26; 15:26; 16: 8, 13, 15).
We are not going to be Christ on the earth for there is only One and He is Jesus. However, we can be witnesses and testifiers to Who He is, by our conduct as we follow His lead. Then, our glory will be to have glorified the Son, Who glorified the Father. Think about it.
