Sent For A Purpose
Treasured Vignettes

"But He said to them, I must preach the good news (the Gospel) of the kingdom of God to the other cities and towns also; for I was sent for this [purpose]." Luke 5:43AMP

In this world, darkened by transgressions and iniquities, you and I will not find forgiveness apart from God in Jesus Christ. What we will find is accusation, true or false; imposed or real shame and guilt; condemnation without hope of pardon; and, a taskmaster of Sin who will try to enslave us with the deception of self-salvation. And, in the end, leaves us with eternal wailing and grinding of our teeth in the agony and torment of hell.

But a Light has broken in on the darkness! There is good news! God, the Creator of all things and the Ruler over all, has chosen to intervene on mankind's behalf. Since He is the only Righteous Judge, He has chosen to show us mercy. He has sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to not only be our Advocate, but the compensation for all the penalties of transgressions against Him. He is able to remove all guilt and shame; to forgive all debts we owe as a result of rejecting Him as our Sovereign Lord. He can and will lead us to life, eternal life, by His grace. Having been a captive in the darkness and evil of sin, I can tell you that is good news!

Jesus Christ came to tell mankind that the kingdom of God is present to all who will turn to Him and come into it. And, that is God's purpose for sending His people to every nook and cranny of this sin-darkened world--to bring the light of the Gospel to shine upon a people sitting in darkness.

Dear Christian, have you been sent to your neighbor's house? Then, know you have been sent for a purpose. You are to bring the mercy of the Lord to their attention. For, their need of forgiveness is as great as your need was before you accepted Christ Jesus as Savior. Have you gone to another nation not your own? Your were sent with a purpose! Those you will meet need to know God has heard the cry of their sin-captive hearts and has good news for them. Think about it.
