Treasured Vignettes
"Master, we toiled all night (exhaustingly)and caught nothing [in our nets]. But on the ground of Your word, I will lower the nets [again]." Luke 5:5 AMP
How often, on the basis of someone's word, have you changed your decision? Have you ever had the Lord do something dramatic or wondrous in your life that made you realize the greatness of His mercy toward you? Did it change your life and what occupied you? That's what happened to Peter: "And after they had run their boats on shore, they left everything and joined Him as His disciples and sided with His party and accompanied Him" (Luke 5:11). Many like Peter were amazed and bewildered by the activity of the Lord in their lives. Yet, when the amazement passed, only a few were willing to give up everything to follow Jesus. (See Luke 5:1-11)
Truly, everything changes when we acknowledge our personal, sinful state, realize God's merciful love for us and begin to live according to His directives and instruction. We begin a "new life." Think about it.
