TRODDEN UNDER FOOT

"A sower went out to sow seed, and as he sowed, some fell along a traveled path, and was trodden under foot, and the birds of the air ate it up" (Luke 8:5 AMP).

The way to destruction is a broad, well-traveled road (Luke 13:24).  It is filled with those who generally ignore God or proclaim there is no God.  Even if the Word of God is introduced to them, their hearts are so hardened by continual rebellion and disobedience,  it finds no turned(plowed) place to receive it.  The impenetrable surface makes it so easy for Satan to remove any evidence of it from these pilgrims' lives.  The well-traveled path is so hardened, that any memory of it being part of a field, meant for planting, has been forgotten.  There is no rest found on this path, only constant movement along its way--from one place to another.  There are so many who only stay on that path.  What they don't seem to realize or even care about, is that it leads to destruction.  "How much worse (sterner and heavier) punishment do you suppose he will be judged to deserve who has spurned and [thus] trampled under foot the Son of God, and who has considered the covenant blood by which he was consecrated common and unhallowed, thus profaning it and insulting and outraging the (Holy) Spirit [Who imparts] grace--the unmerited favor and blessing of God?  [Ex. 24:8]  It is a fearful (formidable and terrible) thing to incur the divine penalties and be cast into the hands of the living God" (Hebrews 10:29,31)!  Think about it.
