THE GIFT THAT KEEPS ON GIVING
"If you then, evil-minded as you are, know how to give good gifts--gifts that are to advantage--to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those, who ask and continue to ask Him!" Luke 11:13AMP
The Holy Spirit is God--the Life, the Truth and the Way. The Holy Spirit was given to disciples of Jesus Christ that they could be witnesses{ to give testimony to what a person has seen or heard, what the person was present at}( See Acts 1). The Holy Spirit was given so that the disciples would have the ability and authority to forgive sins (John 20:21-23). The Holy Spirit was given as a Comforter, Counselor, Helper, Intercessor Advocate, Strengthener and Standby to the disciples (John 14:16). The Holy Spirit was given as Teacher, to remind them of everything Christ told them (John 14:26). He Himself is a Witness to the disciples of Who Christ Jesus is. He came to draw them into close fellowship with Himself. He has come as a Helper, convicting the world of sin, righteousness and judgment and to make effective the disciples' witness (John 16:7-11; Acts 1). The Holy Spirit would act as a Guide to Christ followers, leading them into the full truth and preparing them for what is to come (John 16:12-13). He was given that He might bring to the disciples what is of Christ and reveal it to them (John 16:13-15). He was given as a "seal of promise," as a "pledge of our inheritance" in Christ Jesus (Ephesians 1:13,14). Because God is eternal and eternally All-sufficient, He can give and give and give, ad infinitum, to our redemption and the praise of His glory. Think about it.
