THE GREAT MOTIVATOR FOR CHANGE
"Dear brothers, I am not writing out a new rule for you to obey . . . Yet, it is always new, and works for you as it did for Christ; and as we obey this commandment, to love one another, the darkness in our lives disappears and the new light of life in Christ shines in" (1 John 2:7-8).
Over and over again, throughout the Scriptures, we see examples of transformation in peoples' lives as they receive the love of God and respond by returning that love. And, we see the transforming power of love active in the lives of those who would be followers of Christ.
A child matures well under the loving discipline of his parents. The child becomes angry and rebellious when treated harshly, indifferently or without the affirmation of his/her father's love. I can't begin to tell you how many lives have been changed when they comprehend and apprehend the love of God the Father for them, even the love of Christ as it flows from followers of Christ to them. Change, in this case, happens 100% of the time. Think about it.
