IT DEPENDS
"And when as He (Jesus) approached He saw the city, He wept (audibly) over it, exclaiming, Would that you had known personally, even at least in this your day, the things that make for peace (for freedom from all the distresses that are experienced as the result of sin and upon which your peace that is, you security, safety, prosperity and happiness depends)! But now they are hidden from your eyes" (Luke 19:41-42 AMP).
For thousands of years mankind has forsaken the Rulership of God and looked to one of their own to bring about freedom from the distresses of sin and provide peace and prosperity. And with each generation, God has raised up a prophet calling out to them to repent of their rebellion and disobedience and return to the kingdom of God. Men have warred against each other, murdering, pillaging, raping and destroying in order to avoid submission to the only One from Whom peace and security, freedom and prosperity are dispensed. And, upon Whom they must look and humbly depend for favor.
From the Garden of Eden to this day, mankind has chosen to throw off the yoke of a loving God only to find themselves as slaves to sin and death. Sin that drives them by their fleshly appetites to commit every kind of evil in search of peace and security. And they find none! So sin drives them on into more and more depravity until they reach death. And, in death, they find themselves forever languishing under condemnation to restlessness, turmoil and unending desire for what they "could have had."
The truth is your tomorrow depends on what and Whom you come to know and trust in today. Your peace and security, safety and prosperity depends on Him! Think about it.
