CONSECRATION
"You were bought for a price--purchased with a precious and paid for, made His own. So then, honor God and bring glory to Him in your body" (1 Corinthians 6:20 AMP).
Every Christ-follower was once a common sinner! But, we "were washed clean [purified by a complete atonement for sin and made free from the guilt of sin]; and you were consecrated" [that is, you were set apart for, devoted to and dedicated for the worship and service of God]. "And you were justified (pronounced righteous, by trust) in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the (Holy) Spirit of our God" (1 Corinthians 6:11).
God has purchased us common "lumps of clay" with the precious sacrifice of His Son and is making us noble, sacred vessels for His use. "Has the potter right over the clay, to make out of the same mass (lump) one vessel for beauty and distinction and honorable use, and another for menial or ignoble and dishonorable use?" (Romans 9:21) And this God has done with you, fellow Christian. He has made you (and is making you) to be wholly consecrated to Him.
If we are to live for Christ in a corrupt society, we must recognize and adhere to the truth that we are no longer to live for any other than God; serve no other than God; worship no other than God; for we are holy unto God! We must devote and dedicate ourselves daily to His instruction and direction as His people. And this we must do with constant effort and due attention! Think about it.
