What We Do

As a non-profit, religious organization that operates on donations, Hidden Treasure Ministries provides the following:

Pursuing All The Heart Retreat (P.A.T.H.)-Participants are given the opportunity to grow in their personal intimacy with God through Biblical teaching, creative activities and devotional exercises.

Lay Aside Every Weight Seminar- A seminar committed to sharing the message of forgiveness and reconciliation. Both its message and its design are structured to enable those who participate in it to discover any reality of unforgiveness and bitterness in their lives and to address them in the most efficient and effective way possible.

Listening Prayer Seminar-Those who attend will find out about the most ancient type of prayer, its application to modern life and its importance as part of the Christian's devotional life.

S.H.A.P.E. Seminar-Participants will discover the unique way God created each person and equips him or her to serve Him and the Body of Christ.

The ministry of pastoral care is offered by Hidden Treasure Ministers for the following purposes:

To encourage people to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ.
To ease emotional pain and suffering through prayer and Scripture.
To increase growth in Christian maturity.
To increase participation and commitment to the local church.
To encourage solidarity of marriage relationships, as well as, healthy relationships with others.

Praying Is Not Just Asking

"And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone; so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your transgressions." Mark 11:25(NAS)

Many Christians believe that praying is about asking God for the things one needs or desires and that's all. Some have learned that God is a living God and still speaks to His people today, so they add listening to their times of prayer. But there is another very important facet to a vital prayer life--forgiveness. To remain at odds with another person through unforgiveness, hatred, anger or bitterness is an unrighteous attitude and act. In Proverbs, the Scriptures are clear, God does not hear the prayers of the unrighteous. When we repent and recieve Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, Jesus' righteousness is imputed to us, but that does not give us permission to practice unrighteousness. Our own forgiveness is of no greater importance to God than the forgiveness of another person by us. Think about it.

Taking It On The Road

Events

You can join with other Christians in the Southern Colorado region to saturate our area with prayer! Plan a prayer walk! Make a plan that is achievable and that can include every believer, young and old alike. Simply pick a time to walk around your neighborhood, workplace, or wherever you choose and silently pray for God's blessings. Steve Hawthorne and Graham Kendrick in the book Prayerwalking describe this type of praying as, "Ordinary believers are stepping into the streets to pray effectively for their neighbors. With eyes wide open to real needs and with ears open to the promptings of God's Spirit, intercession becomes an adventure." Pick a village, town or city that lies between Pueblo and Raton, the Utah border and the Kansas border. Go in pairs or small teams and start your adventure of faith. An Extreme Makeover

“Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own?” 1 Corinthians 6:19

Many, if not most of us, do not regard our bodies as “a temple of the Holy Spirit.” We may idolize our bodies, giving them first place in our thoughts and decisions. We may disdain our bodies, treating them to all sorts of abuses—drugs, starvation, cosmetic surgery, suicide, etc. Or, we may realize our bodies are God created and given for His purposes, one of which is to be the dwelling place of the Holy Spirit.

The Lord had Solomon build an earthly temple that “His Name” would dwell with Israel. But Israel (and Judah) did not honor the Lord. They sinned, even in the temple. Through Jesus Christ an “extreme makeover” has taken place! The power of sin is made ineffective and a “temple” is made of the redeemed, that the “Name of the Lord” would be glorified. That temple is each of our bodies, the bodies of the saints, built by the Holy Spirit, sanctified by the Blood of the Lamb, to glorify the Everlasting Father, God Almighty. If Jesus were to come today, would He find your temple (body) a “house of prayer” or a “robbers’ den?” (See Matthew 21:12-13) Think about it.

O, Persistent Love

“Love endures all things.” 1 Corinthians 13:7 (paraphrased)

Every human saga is marred by at least one tragedy. When hope flags and faith falters in the throes of tragedy, love shines the brightest and lasts through it all. Love initiates recovery because he is willing to bear the loss with the grief-stricken. Love sustains the broken-hearted with the food of comfort and the solace of a helping hand. Love is patient and persistent in prayer and provision. In feast or famine, love is the steadfast friend of the mournful, as well as, the celebrant. Whether man obtains the riches of the earth or is one of the impoverished, he is often heard to say, “Is this all there is?” Love knows there is more and invites rich and poor alike to find their consolation in the Divine Caretaker. There is no high to which you may rise that love will not accompany you nor is there any low that love will not descend to attend to you; for love abides with all people, in all circumstances. Love chooses to suffer alongside, and even instead of, his beloved. Think about it.

A God of Faithfulness

“The Rock! His work is perfect, for all His ways are just; a God of faithfulness and without injustice, Righteous and upright is He.” Deuteronomy 32:4 (emphasis mine)

In a book on prayer I wrote some years ago, I proposed that faith is a decision and trust is what gives it legs (mobility). Faith is a gift of God; those who receive it and act upon it are saved, justified and set apart as God’s possession. God is full of faith and is known as “a God of faithfulness” as revealed in the passage above. God’s faithfulness is like a rock, solid, sure-footing for the frail legs of man. Because He is faithful, all His work is perfect and lacking nothing because he sees to it continually. All his ways are just because He is faithful to do right every time and in every circumstance. In 2 Timothy 2:13, Paul extols the character of God, faithfulness, as a promise of God’s reliability to fulfill all His will and plans for man, especially His people: “If we are faithless, He remains faithful; for He cannot deny Himself.” Because God is faithful, the believer’s salvation is secure even though he may forfeit all rewards (see 1 Corinthians 3:15). Jesus said, “I am the resurrection and the life, he who believes in Me shall live even if he dies, and everyone who lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?” Think about it.

The Depths of Knowing God

“Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and unfathomable His ways!” Romans 11:33

One may be able to discern the times or analyze and categorize human nature, but we can only know what God has chosen to reveal to us about Himself and His thoughts and ways. If you study His Word (what He has revealed to man) and know His presence through worship and prayer, you will make a discovery: How vain it is to try and tell Him what to do or bribe Him for favor or mercy. Can the branch say to the vine, “I have no further use for you?” Can the clay say to the potter, “Why did you make me like this?” God is the source of all things, the Sustainer of all things and the end to which all things will arrive; and, it is by His mercy that any of us realize this. Think about it.

Pursue Love!

"You have heard it was said, 'You shall love your neighbor, and hate your enemy.' But I say to you, love your enemies, and pray for those who persecute you . . ." Matthew 5: 43-44

The Lord's love crosses the barriers of prejudice, pride and pain. It leaps over the walls of the fortresses of hatred and animosity to bless those hidden on the other side. This love recognizes that we both share our humanity and all that goes with it. This love gives us the eyes to see the poverty of spirit, the depravity of soul, the fears, desire and hopes of those who would be our enemies. This love moves us to compassion, prayer and patient faith. But we cannot love in this way unless we know and receive the love of our Heavenly Father, as Jesus Christ did. Think about it.

Anxiety Is A Thief

“But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added to you.” Matthew 6:33

Anxiety is a thief. It steals from the Lord and from God’s children. Anxiety steals the truth about God’s desire and ability to provide and the glory and thanksgiving that is due Him as Provider. It robs the child of God of confidence in the Lord and spoils the fruit of the Spirit in his/her life. Anxiety would drive us away from Our Father’s house and enslave us once again to the sinful nature. Our best defense is the good offense of seeking God. “Prayer and supplication with thanks giving” brings our Father to our side to drive this thief from our hearts and minds. By seeking His kingdom, we invoke His Almightiness on our behalf. By seeking His righteousness, we avail ourselves of His authority and favor, given us through Jesus Christ Our Lord. The world is driven by anxiety but Christians are not of this world. We have been born anew, given citizenship in God’s kingdom and, as earnest for better to come, the Holy Spirit of God Who provides us with “love, power and a sound mind.” Since God is our Provider, whom shall we fear? Selah.

Without Righteousness

“Pursue peace with all men, and the sanctification without which no one will see the Lord.” Hebrews 12:14

Pursuing peace is not more important than pursuing sanctification. In each day, with each circumstance and relationship, we, Christians, should be becoming more Christ like in our attitudes, behaviors and devotion to our heavenly Father, always acquiring “the grace of God” for every occasion. We need be diligent in our watchfulness and prayer, so that, even if we are “pressed on every side,” we do not give up our heavenly inheritance to satisfy our flesh. We must not let the “hostility of sinners” wear us down or discourage us; but, rather, look to our heavenly Father for direction and instruction so that righteousness might prevail; for without righteousness there is no peace. Selah.

Learning To Love

“Older women likewise are to be reverent in their behavior, not malicious gossips, nor enslaved to much wine, teaching what is good, that they may encourage the young women to love their husbands, to love their children . . .” Titus 2:3-4

“To love” is not an easy task, given the fact that each of us is uniquely different from one another in make up. All of us desire to be loved for who we are but we seem to have a hard time loving others for who they are.
As we mature as Christians, by the transforming of our minds and the work of the Holy Spirit in our hearts, we will change from babe to child, child to adult; from one who needs feeding to one who feeds the younger. The way we elders feed the younger is by living and teaching the Word of the Lord. We, older women, know that love begins with husband, then our children, then our community. A woman’s greatest influence will always begin in the home and work out to our neighbors. Home is in the heart of a woman whether she is married or single, stays at home and works or goes into the corporate world.
Before I have guests, I walk through my home to make sure all is ready to welcome them and refresh them. We, women, need to take time to “walk through” our hearts to see if we are prepared to honor God, represent Christ and respect others. We must sweep out any malice, cleanse maledictions and impurity of thought from the corners, and open the windows of prayer and meditation on God’s Word, so His light can purify us. Then, Wisdom and Reverence will visit and those we teach will learn to love. Selah.

The Prayer of Faith

“However, when the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on the earth?” Luke 18:8b

Injustice seems to be increasing these days. For with the increase of lawlessness, there is an increase of injustice, and visa versa. The righteous (God’s children) “cry to Him day and night” for justice because it seems the wicked are prospering at the expense of the righteous and innocent (Jeremiah 12:1; Psalm 73). God has promised to bring about justice for His elect. But, will our faith diminish, in the face of increasing evil, to such an extent that our prayers cease or are replaced with cries of “Woe is me, woe is me?”
A prayer is not always a “prayer of faith.” A prayer of faith springs from the deep abiding knowledge and assurance that God is able, that God is willing and that God is ready to answer His children, “to give it to you” in Jesus’ Name (John 16:24). Selah.

Introducing John and Sherron Hudson

John and Sherron Hudson have been working within the Body of Christ for over twenty five years serving in various capacities. They are ordained ministers of the Gospel. They have also served the local church as members of mission committees, small group leaders, teachers, Bible study writers and speakers, prayer counselors, elders and as missionaries with OC International.

They have received training from Elijah House, Inc., Listening Prayer Ministries, and Jubilee International in the areas of prayer counseling and ministering to the needs of hurting and dysfunctional people. They have worked in the areas of evangelism/discipleship, leadership development and church growth for over 25 years.

They have two children, Scott (married to Dawn) and Heather (married to Jonathan), and six grandchildren: Connor, Jadin, Caileigh, Collin,Kiera and Garrin.
